MT to offer Unlimited Blogs for Free Users
Six Apart got a lot of criticism with it’s previous releases of Movable Type for not allowing unlimited free use of it’s platform. Mena has announced that this will change with the upcoming release of MT 3.2. She writes:
‘with version 3.2, *all users* will be entitled to unlimited weblogs. This goes for free users, as well. A lot of the rationale behind this was that the multiple weblog management is so good in 3.2, that we didn’t want to have the limit anymore.’

Weekend Adsense CTR Upswing
Does anyone else noticed a definite increase in their Click Through Rate (CTR) on weekends for their Adsense performance?
Whilst we’re not allowed to talk specific numbers I find that most weekends my CTR can pick up to the point where my overall earnings are often as good as my weekday totals despite having significantly less traffic to my sites.
I wonder if people surfing the web on weekends are just more relaxed and willing to take their time more and follow the links/ads that you have on your site? Just a theory but one I’m interested to hear others experience on. Does your Adsense CTR go up on weekends?

31 Days to Building a Better Blog - Day 20
With the arrival of day 20 I feel as though we’re in the home stretch of the 31 Days Project here at enternetusers. A couple of people have asked me in the last day or two whether every link I put up in these daily summary posts are links that I endorse the content of. I’ll answer that question below under today’s reader posts. Here they are:
- John has written Blogging Blues
- Tom wrote a post on Barter at Pro-blogger barter
- LcF let us know about Journey to Become Pro Blogger
- Yzabel wrote Why Keeping Several Blogs Can be a Good Idea
- Kurt let us know about The Tools of the Trade
- Miha submitted Let online tools help you begin
- Edrei let us know about a couple of older posts - To All WordPress Users: Back up Matters and Responding to Blog Criticism
- Dan wrote Building Traffic on this Blog
- Kitty has written What to Write About in Blogs
- Raj submitted Turn Your Life Experiences into Blogs and Blogging the Write Way
- Chris let us know about his new blog - Mice Life - a blog keeping a record of his pro blogging efforts
My answer to the question of whether I agree with or endorse each post I’ve linked to in this project is to say that I want to create a space with this project for people to share their experience. I hope that in doing so we’ll find some helpful blog tips and will meet some talented new enternetuserss (or aspiring ones). This has already happened as many of the tips submitted so far are brilliant.
In the midst of the great links that I’ve put up have been other posts which I don’t resonate as much with. Some have confused me, a couple have written tips that I’m not so sure I agree with. However I decided at the start that I wouldn’t edit out submitted tips unless they were offensive or defamatory etc. Rather this is about creating a space for bloggers to share what they know (or think that they know). Hopefully through the discussion and reading we’ll all discern the wheat from the chaff and come out better bloggers.
I hope that answered the question.

WordPress.com to compete with TypePad
It looks like WordPress is going to be launching a new service at WordPress.com. Word on the street is that it will be a service to compete with Six Apart’s TypePad - a hosted blog service using the WordPress platform.
WordPress chief, Matt Mullenweg, made the announcement at the Blog Business Summit this week.

Interview with Scott Meyer - About.com
PaidContent has an interesting interview with About.com’s CEO and President, Scott Meyer where he talks about some of the recent (and future) changes at what is probably the world’s biggest blog (it uses MovableType). About.com sold for $410 million - kind of makes the blog networks that we always talk about as being the biggest look tiny!
It looks like there are serious changes happening at About.com.
‘About is doubling its editorial team from six to 12 and implementing — carefully — new content forms across the guides. Video continues to play an important role. Following a pilot this summer, About will introduce limited flash video and podcasts in September. The investment in guide training is increasing — in part, to add those features. Some user blogs are already in place, sharing experiences like pregnancy or quitting smoking and including photographs. Asked if About would be making a deal with a photo service, Meyer said he couldn’t talk about it. ‘

BusinessLogs Redesign in Process
I’m watching with interest the redesign process of BusinessLogs.com which has already won awards for it’s designs.
Mike Rundle explains some of the reasons for and thinking behind the design (which is slowly coming into effect on the site). I can’t wait to see how it ends up because these guys always come up with innovative design and create a feel that makes me purrrrr with delight. Wish I had this type of design ability - in fact I wish I had any at all!.

Jeremy Sells Wealthy Blogger
Jeremy Wright put his Wealthy Blogger blog up for sale and a few hours later it was sold for $2000.The auction was here. Not too bad for a 6 month old blog with 120 posts on it.
$16.66 per post resale value (plus the $3-$5 they were earning per day from it recently).
I’m not really sure how one makes a decision on how much to sell a blog for but it seems he got what he were asking for.
Congratulations to Jeremy.

How not to get Banned from AdSense
Good post over at Jen’s again on How to ensure your AdSense account will not be cancelled where she bounces of a page at Google on the same topic which lists 10 things you can do as an adsense publisher NOT to be banned from the program. They are pretty much common sense - but unfortunately they do need to be said. Even these first two points I see broken regularly!
‘Don’t click your own ads
I have been saying this ever since AdSense launched. It is amazing how many people don’t realize this is a problem even if they are “truly interested” in what is being advertised.Don’t ask others to click on Google ads
Again, you’d think this was obvious, but not the the publisher I saw a few months ago with a huge 250×500 pixel image reminding visitors to click at least three ads a day, or else their free access to the site might be gone the following day.’
And we just found out about get paid to. When your phone rings or you receive an email or receive a text message then you get paid. Could it be that my groom’s fantasies might actually be wilder than the site of me perfectly coiffed, bustled, and veiled?
