Guess the Blog Topic

Pro Blogging News 9 comments

Guess-The-BlogOk - lets play a little game.

Here is a stats graphic of a blog that I’ve been watching for a month or two now. Its the last month’s stats - pretty pattern (click to enlarge it).

Can you guess what the blog is about?

I’ll give a few hints over the next day or two. No prize (unless someone wants to donate one - this could be a regular game) - just the satisfaction of being the smartest enternetusers Reader.

I will say that this is not one of my blogs or a part of the network I’m part of. I’ll also say that these figures are on Australian time and we’re ahead of the rest of the world by a few hours - when its Thursday here its Wednesday in other parts of the world for a lot of the day.

Leave your guesses in comments.

  • Interesting… quite the spike in traffic every Monday… hmmm… You’ve gotten me wondering quite a lot here and it’s too early in the morning. :o)

  • It seems to me that the traffic is spiking on Thursdays (3/31, 4/7, 4/14, 4/21) unless I’m interpreting the graph wrong. My guess would be that this is a blog for a popular TV show, perhaps LOST or Survivor or American Idol. I realize this is a bit of a US-centric answer, but that’s my guess.

  • If it’s Wednesday for other parts of the world, I’d guess a Wednesday night TV show like Lost or America’s Next Top Model. If it’s truly a weekly topic this blog is focused, they’re sure doing something right to draw that kind of a traffic pattern.

  • I would guess something like who wants to be millionaire - but then again, that would be traffic spikes more regulary.

So what is out, once a week, probably american market, so people will go out and rush for the blog to visit it, or hit it with search engine results?

Some figures who get out on that day and are commented on? (every visitor seems to have two pages)

  • It looks like a Gawker Media blog only because of the weekend dips and the high traffic, but I’m guessing its actually one of yours, despite the “blogging in advance” trick. Can’t be bothered going through all your sites, but I know its not photograhpy, enternetusers, camera or the pope one (I just checked their stats :-) )

  • No Duncan - he said its not one of his blogs

  • Let’s see spike on every Monday…how about some kind of sports blog…opinion and news on the weekend’s events.

  • American Idol?

  • I have similar patterns on some of my blogs too, but just not as high on the peaks and valleys :)
